word of warning. . . I planted one last year before I got my chooks, they destroyed it a a couple of weeks. . . I guarantee it didn't hurt them, but they sure did hurt it!

Is there anything they WON'T eat? Snail vine certainly is vigorous - I've killed one of mine twice and it came back both times! I actually killed it on purpose but it found a way...

Does anyone here have cats claw? Do they eat that?

Larissa, if I ever get off work early, I go to 32nd Street and Lincoln and do one of many available trails there. I went this evening and it was just gorgeous.

Two of my EE's ... one that lays blue eggs are going on Friday morning also.

Bad new is, one of my Wheaten Ameraucanas has gone broody.

I've got to try and break her. I have folks buying the hatching eggs.

Mahroni- There are some nice trails up there.

Today we went to the park by the big church on 32nd and Acoma. They have the some of the best playground toys ever! There are a few "spin" toys that are so cool. They work off natural centripetal forces when you sit down/stand up. How to explain...like personal merry-go-rounds. No--a single-pole gravitron, sit spinners, and cage spinners.

Kinda like this

If I were a kid, I would LOOOOVE it! As a mom, it scares the crickets out of me! Seriously? Get kids dizzy, moving super-fast, so they can launch into metal bars? We had 2 bloody lips and a busted bottom.

Good thing I always have orajel.

As Laree, they were wicked fun. Kids can get going pretty fast, but a heavy mommy can go soooooooo fast. My arms are tired!

I'm in the process of building a new one... i'm using all repurposed materials. Pallets, mostly. Also some wood that I found in the back lot of my dad's shop. I will try to remember to post some pics. I only have the base and the walls up now. I don't really have a plan.. I'm just planning as I go so hopefully that works out for me

Laree - Count me as one who needs to get started on the walking project.
Monhonri- Nice to hear about the trails. Thank you. I have dentist appointment tomorrow. My dad tells me HIS dentist is saying mercury fillings expand over time and break up or something. Have you ever heard of that?
Branda - NICE!
Cluckin - If you take as you go photos, you might have a nice series for a BYC Coop page/contest. I would love to see what you do.

VINES - love the purple flour vine. I might have to try that.

I haven't had any brown eggs in a couple of days, but my Blue Andalusian pullet, Inara laid another egg today. This is the ninth day in a row that she's laid an egg. I'm pleasantly surprised, since everything I'd read indicated that her breed are good, but not outstanding layers.

Yippee for eggs! Glad to hear you have a good layer AZCat. My mothers EE Pullet rarely skips a day.

I am still getting 24-26 eggs a week from my BA"s. I think one is free loading, so 25 eggs from 5 hens is 5 a week. The eggs are very big and brown. They were smaller eggs last year but are quite large now.
