Arizona Chickens

I've never bought eggs before and I heard good reviews for Ideal. I'm glad you told me though, I'd rather wait for a good stock than order for now.
Are Ideals chickens the same as purebred mutts?

For some reason, I have it in my head you only want 3-6 hens? Did you look at mypetchicken.com? You can place SMALL orders, but it will cost you in shipping. Eggs are kinda pricey too. I am trying to think who has the neatest silkies on here....

Chime in anyone?

In AZ
Sonoran Silkies
Enjaytoo (I think, she has one on my blues)
Chrystalgail (has partridge, whites, and others)

Elsewhere
Cammy (hatched 4 blues from her)
Jenlyn84 (my sizzles)
chickenzoo
shay20
ahappychick

Again, I did not mean to bash Ideal. Maybe I have been spending too much time in the genetics section. I think you can learn too much. If you just want pet quality, why not?

One has hatched, nothing from #2 yet. #3 isn't due until the 23rd.
The black chick is the Ameracauna---she'll be going to Cluckin'

Color doesnt matter.

Ok, follow this thread if you are interested in Ideal stock... https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=278186 very informative. They have good quality and they have poor when it comes to certain breeds of chickens.

Ok, read through most of the thread, and what I got out of it was:

Ideal has nice smooth-feathered well-established breeds. The "rares" are a little less "quality".

BTW, if anyone has a speckled sussex hen with WAY to much white (like the hatchery bird in the thread posted by Sock) let me know. I would be interested in her.

I have a speckled sussex that I would sell you, she lays about 4-5 times a week and the BWA roo has been real friendly with her...
I also have an Ancona I would part with... lays 2-3 times a week and I saw the roo get friendly with her yesterday....

I have silkies but I am up north in the state. They are just starting to lay again, it has been cold up here.

They will probably stop laying again, it is suppose to cool down and rain again...I just looked outside and it looks like the weather is right
