She was giving me 4 or 5 a week.

Good luck.

I have two more "ducky's", they are iffy, but they also have the webbed toes so I'm saying goodbye to them for the first person to come get them.
A fellow from Mesa called and said he would come to get the lot but I haven't seen him yet.

Well- if he doesn't show up, let me know. The little 4H-er down the street called me today. The neighbor's dog ate the blue silkie pullet I had given them (it was her 8 yr old sister's pet) so they are shaking me down for chicks again. How do you say no to the best babysitter in the neighborhood?

I don't have many girl chicks--and certainly none as fancy as the silkie. Just a bunch of dudes waitin' for the soup pot... Anywhoo, if you have an ugly pullet that needs a home, maybe I can send her your way?

Mahonri - The B-AM, Midnight (I finally named her), is now sitting on 4 Trader Joe's eggs. I don't need (or want) any more chicks, but she was so serious about her job of hatching the golf ball, I wanted to give her a chance. I bought 10 day old fertile eggs from TJ, gave her 4 and put the other 8 in my incubator (she's not large enough to stick the entire dozen under her). The plan is to candle the eggs at 4 days and give Midnight any eggs that are developing (I'm not counting on very many, since the eggs aren't real fresh). If none of them develop, I'll go back to the Stock Shop on Friday to pick up 3 little day olds ones for her to raise.

If she would have just gone broody 5 weeks ago she could have hatched her own offspring!

BTW - the chicks are growing fast - I think my favorite (the one who always runs for my hand) is a roo - it's one of the wheatons and it looks like he's getting dark splashes on his back. I'll send you a few pics once they feather out a little more. I think at least one of the chicks from Midnight's eggs will be a dark blue - if it's a pullet, I'll probably be keeping her.

Can't wait to see pics.

I have one of her 11 week old chicks, a little blue roo with red hi lights that is going to be rehomed soon.... I so wished it had been a pullet. In fact, here it is.

Remind me to post them, what always happens is that I take them and then don't post them

I might have a couple of pullets that need a home...they are black with some white, I was told that the eggs that I hatched them from were Silver Laced Wyndottes but that isn't what I got..let me look to see what is left

I do the chores so it might take a long time, except that I needed to use the DH truck....
