Basil wants to be broody, I've been throwing her out of the nest many times a day for the last couple days. At first she was just like "what?" not she is looking at me like "why are you doing this to me?" I suppose we'll have to decide whether to try and break her of it or get her some eggs or what. I shouldn't have joked with the Lego chicken. Not Larry and Right Said Red are truly becoming lap chickens which is kinda fun.

I just officially survived eight days as a single parent, with three and a half and two year old live wire boys. I even braved the mall and did an exchange

, the three year old understands the you can touch with one finger rule the two year old is full tilt boogie. Mom is home from Seatle now and the three of them are in the kitchen making cookies. I had to laugh she brought home a chicken book for me, have I become that person that I'm all chickens? She went to a Scandinavian town and could have brought home something from there or maybe something local like some snoqualmie falls oatmeal or some Coffee but nope chickens

Eight days with two little boys?!

I just did ten days alone with my two year old and that was rough. I don't think I could handle two! I think you deserve a very long massage and a sex pack of your favorite beer!

Ugh. Just got through watching Avatar on Blue Ray... great special effects but the underlying theme ???

Glad to go back to work tomorrow. Hope the AC guy got it fixed... it was hot at the office Fri, Sat and Sun.

Inara, my Blue Andalusian, is continuing to be an overachiver-she's the only one of my birds who has continued to lay reliably, and today, she laid twice.

I'll have to take some pictures of the Ameraucana X Blue Andalusian chick and post them, that chick is a seriously gorgeous EE. We're talking "I wouldn't mind a flock of birds that looked like that" good looking.

I lost a chickie today then I had another chicken go down today. Thankfully we go out to the coop a lot and found Her. I don't think the heat was her issue. I think her crest is too big and she can't see her food and water. I had her on the kitcken table and I pulled her crest back so I could see her eyes and after she quit freaking out about being in the house, she saw the little bowl,with water and she drank quite a bit. She seems to be feeling much better now but she'll spend the night inside just to be on the safe side. Two losses in a day is enough.
