I think you hit the nail on the head.

So sorry to hear about your neighbor! That is just awful!

They were dirt poor. They didn't have much to lose, but it was all they had.

Luckily, we don't ever leave our house alone.

seems like I am surrounded by bad news of people hurting lately. It is in all my life's circles. It is starting to scare me...

Not much going on in the 'tukee.....No losses from the heat so far, and just stumbled on a great pet sitter so I can enjoy my upcoming 20 year class reunion

Hello fellow AZ peeps!!

I have been gone from this thread for a looong time, yikes! I think I left it back when it was still in the 400's

Why was I away? Among other things, I am expecting a baby girl, due on Christmas!

And she has been giving me all sorts of morning, afternoon and evening sickness

Also, I stopped receiving the post updates for the thread

Anywho, I came back to ask about a chicken with what appears to be a cold ... now I know this topic has been covered before but I can't figure out a way to search in one thread only, so I will have to bug you guys, sorry!

One of my EE's is sneezing and wheezing. Do I have to put her in a chicken hospital? (more than likely) What can I give her? I already put ACV in their water but I was wondering if I should give her electrolytes/vitamin pack or something to that effect. Luckily none of the other chickens seem affected ... the only other "weird" thing is that the Silkie has been pecking at her, which is odd because the Silkie is pretty low on the totem pole

Well I hope y'all have been doing great, good to be back with my fellow chicken lovers, what would I do without your wisdom??

I lived in Wisconsin for three years in the early 1960's. We used to see the northern lights there once and a while. It always seemed to be on the coldest nights of winter. It was quite a show, but we liked to froze to death watching them.

They really messed up radio communications and the radar.

I would definitely separate her and put her on some water soluble antibiotic and if you have VetRx, you can put it on her nares, face, comb, wattles and under her wings- it will help her breathe easier. If she isn't any better in a week, or if her chest is rattling, you might have to try an injectible medication. I use Tylan 50, .50 cc, for 3 days. Knocks it right out.

Good luck!

I've read that cayenne pepper and garlic in the food/water helps.
