I've seen chicks go on their back from time to time, but we've never had them die.
There are some who put them in a little Pam lid and dripper them sugar water 'til they are over that.
I think they are still trying to absorb the yolk and then sometimes they will get a drink and when they put their head back to swallow they flip over.
Of course, I had kids around them all the time when they were hatching so no one chick ever stayed on it's back for long.
Got four eggs today, two ams, two marans.
Tucson tofu... I see 4 ams and a Golden Cuckoo Marans... hope it's a pullet, it should lay DARK.
One of the Ams looks like a BW cockerel. We'll have to see how it feathers out.. I'm still waiting to see on that looks as pretty as his daddy.
