My chicks are 7 weeks now. Is it soon enough to sex the leghorns? Can I give you pictures?
I'm worried about 1 or 2 because their combs are a little bigger and a little darker orange than the others.
They aren't bright red, though. Should they be bright red by now if they are cockerels?

I got the new roo from a neighbor down the street.

Some on the Marans thread are telling me that my old roo is better!??, more copper, more leg feathers, better to standard???

Here is a pic of my old roo (hatched Jan. 1, 2010) many of you have his babies.

personal preference for me... I like the new guy???

What about you folks?

Anyone have any ideas what I can do if the one chick turns out to be a Roo? I'd prefer him not to be eaten because he/she has been so sweet thus far but we can't keep him/her if he/she is a roo...it will bother the neighbors and that's a big no-no in our HOA neighborhood.

I posted my chicks pictures on the Plymouth Rock thread and they said two of them are roosters and two hens. That means I'm going to be trying to rehome both of the roosters and looking to buy 2 pullets as soon as the roosters are gone. Anyone know anyone who would want some Barred Rock roos?

On the Marans thread, they all like my old one better, but the new one came out of a darker egg, so who cares?
