HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Exactly! That is exactly what we say about ourselves. We used to say we were the rednecks of the neighborhood. Fortunately, another family moved in. Their boys play in the yard in their underwear and their mean German Shepherd chases everyone that walks by. They scream that they hate each other often. It's nice to have the pressure off. Of course, if my husband let me build the coops that I would like to build, I'd be right back in the running.

Oh, the coop is halfway decent. Double pane windows, concrete tile roof, evap cooler, solar powered vent fan, 8X24 feet, with 8' wide shade screen out front, and an attached 16X24' screened and half shaded Arizona room. But it's not 'finished'. Some day, trim, paint the nest boxes, etc.
The pool/trampoline is just 'temporary housing'.

Yeah, okay. My real coop is closer to the trampoline. Since my husband built it, he doesn't complain. We just have 2 side by side "boxes" made of 2 x 4's, covered in chicken wire with rabbit fencing doubled around the bottom. When you open the doors, you have to be careful not to scratch yourself on the chicken wire sticking up. There are 3 shelters, but they are basically just lean-to's. There is one 3 legged nesting box that really isn't even a nesting box. It was just built with leftover lumber and is falling apart. Don't worry, I stacked rocks to hold up the 4th corner. There is an old ladder looking thing for them to roost on. It's really just the monkey bars off of the swing set that fell apart. The chicks get an old piece of narrow pvc pipe to roost on. Okay, isn't there some award for ugly coops? I'm starting to think I'd win that bad boy.

By the way, your coop sounds nicer than a lot of houses I have seen!

Good morning all!

It is supposed to be a nice day again around 70. I wish we would get some clouds or rain, anything to make it feel like winter.

No eggs still! What a bunch of brats I have.

Cody is doing a little bit better with the ducks...only chased them once yesterday. I took him in the chicken coop to clean it out and he just sat there and ate poo.

At least he didn't go after the chickens. Our chickens are used to dogs so they just walk around them like no big deal I think that is why he doesn't chase them. The ducks are different and waddle away from anything that gets to close so that invites him to chase. Except our one mamma duck she will chase and nip him in the heels having Cody running away.

Good morning!

I found a secret stash of eggs yesterday. 15+ of them. Geez ladies. It was like someone had taken a post-hole digger to the bale of hay, and the girls were just dropping the eggs in the hole.

Last night i dreamed i was being chased by zombies and they ate all of my chickens. And then they ate my entire family, and they were going to eat me, but then i woke myself up by moving my sprained ankle.

I hate nightmares.
