Oh, that would be terrible! Did you see that woman that was so excited about her son giving up his truck to buy more hens so they could participate? I think I actually heard hope in her voice when I read that. Poor thing!

She was punking Nifty and the mods... a reverse April Fools... joke... I think it worried them so they let the cat out of the bag....

That is awesome!

My poor husband believed me when I said I was pregnant. He falls for it every year... I'm on the pill and everything.

He was so unhappy. I don't think I can overstate how unhappy he was.

And I was starting to think we should have another one.

TT! :

My husband hates April Fools Day.

Last year I taped a sign to his car that said "HONK AT ME (this is my april fools day joke)"

Then I made a "pie" for dinner. Make a pie crust and fill it with (vegetarian) meatloaf. Bake it, then top it with whipped mashed potatoes. Make everyone think they are having pie for dinner, and after they cut into it bring out gravy and green beans.

Every year I fake a pregnancy test. The year I was actually pregnant I told him I was in labor.

I think this year I'm going to break up with him and tell him it's because I'm a lesbian.

Ok you are certifiable!!!

I have some, but they are the threaded ones. I've heard the push in ones are better. I have the orange plastic ones and the all steel ones. Don't remember what I paid for them, so whatever is fair, but I'm on the far west side.

So which worked well for you?

Meg I have some red ones, supose to be the heavy duty ones. They work great in the buckets no leaks.call me and I'll bring some into town for you to try.

Well I did it!! I ordered the Leann's "Adopt Me" Bargain from Myer Hatchery. It should be here next week. Curiousity got the best of me. I will (of course) post photos and a full review! I figured I better do it before it heats up.

Do you know which ones they have?
I would like to try the plastic ones in my bucket so it'll stop leaking!

Ummm they were red ... so guess plastic or rubber? Maybe it would be a good idea to call - LOL!

TT!--you're too funny!

Beckyhsinglsc, The video your daughter made was hilarious! Great editing.

Chicken nipples: I have both types of chicken nipples. I have threaded ones in pvc pipe for the auto waterer in the coop and the push-in type for using in the bottom of buckets. None of them have leaked yet. Here is the real trick to keep them from ever leaking around the outer edge--use a 9mm drill--not an english conversion, which will be slightly larger or smaller, depending on what you use. I believe that they were originally designed for 9mm holes. Some other things I have learned: 1) put just two in the bottom of a bucket--not three. Three is too many and makes it more difficult to balance on a block. 2) Drill a 1/16" hole in the top of the lid for ventilation. I put in a much larger hole, thinking that I wouldn't take the lid off to fill it--just put the hose up and fill it. Turns out, that's not how I use them. I always rinse them out between re-fills which requires removing the lid anyway and spiders sometimes fall into the water through the larger hole. 3) the nipples don't work with high water pressure. 4). Think about the height your birds will require. They should be able to reach and have it slightly above their head. For standard sized birds, put the nipples up around 20-21" off the ground. Closer to the ground for smaller birds. If you have a mix of sizes, put something (e.g. brick) under one of the nipples so that the shorter birds can climb on and reach it. I get mine from qc supply, they are less than $2.00 with shipping ($1.27 each plus shipping): http://www.qcsupply.com/farm-livestock/waterers/nipple-waterers/420011-push-in-style-nipple.html
