Hello All AZ chicken keepers! I'm new to the boards, but not AZ at all. I'm native and 30 something.

Thought I should introduce myself and get caught up with what others in my great state are doing with their chickens. Can't wait to get started, we have our run, and two chickens, adding more this month. BTW....
I mean "not buff" as in the color buff... it isn't like trying to find someone that is scrawny so I can beat them up and take their orpingtons.

Although, that isn't a bad idea.

We candled last night(day 9) and all 6 eggies are fertile and have little chicks and eyeballs inside! They were so active, it was like they were swimming in there. That broody cochin must have bit me a hundred times while I was trying to get those eggs out from under her. I'll let you know when they hatch. She also somehow stole an extra egg from someone because there is an unmarked egg under her, but it's fertile with a chick inside. it'll be a surprise!

Its tuff, I'll tell you... I have a tendency to buy the wrong thing and have to halt my project until I can get back to town.

Maybe more orpingtons? Does anyone in AZ have any that aren't buff?

There are some VERY nice black and white ones out there--but they are show lines and probably cost an arm and a leg. Or more
