Arizona Chickens

Gotta ask...
Have you tried Neem oil for the mites? Kills people lice and nits. Stinky but effective.

No, we haven't tried that. What must i do with the neem oil?

What worked for my niece is applying is directly, letting it set and then washing it off with homemade soap. She had been through endless rounds of Nix and mayonaise and everything her mom could think of. After I whapped her mom for not calling sooner I gave them a 3 oz bottle and it was all over.

Well doggone it I need a new coop. Sparrows have discovered the chicken feeder. Need proper wire (which I possess) and if I'm doing all that work I might as well have it tall enough.

Maybe I'll use the old one for juvies.

Folks-

I am helping Midwestern University with a project, and am looking for some ELDERLY hens. Preferably 3+ years, and I need to know with some accuracy their age.

These chickens will be euthanized for dissection at the end of the summer. Does anyone have any OLDER hens they are looking to cull? The hens will still need to be healthy, but don't need to be running marathons or anything.

PM me if you have any you are looking to cull.

Thanks! LAREE

anyone want to buy two 8 week old HERITAGE quality Barred Rock roos?

They came out of Kathyinmo's eggs and they are going to be HUGE and GORGEOUS and probably show quality. I hatched three. one died and the other two are roos.

More Old Pueblo chickens! We're at Columbus just North of 22nd.
We finally did it and bought 6 chicks about 7 weeks ago-- the day before Easter actually. We got: 2 Australorps, 2 California Whites, 1 'Ameraucana' an Easter Egger really but, you know and 1 bantam Cochin. There's a suspect roo or two in there, but I'm very good at denial.

A lot of our friends in town have had chickens for ever. We'd been thinking about it a while and now our daughter's old enough to be excited about it, so....
We had 'em in the bathtub for about 3 weeks while we finished (built, really) the coop/run. Now they're outside sleeping on the dirt underneath their roosting bar.

Just wanted to say hi. We'll post pictures and questions often. Thanks for having this.

Oh-- we got the chicks at AZ Feed on S. 6th Ave and 1 from the NW location. Everybody there, at both locations, was great! Super friendly and helpful.
