Arizona Chickens

We have a improvised swap cooler of sorts for the chickens. We take a couple of wet sheets and drape them in front and on top our wire on our coops and so far they seem to be doing pretty well. We also have been putting ice in a terracota pot bottom and they love to sit in that and cool off. I think we will make it through this heat!

I'm so praying it doesn't get up to 119 tomorrow! YIKES! dewpoint is only 28 so it probably will!

Still praying I don't lose any this weekend.

Hooray for finding your guy a home!
Are you processing others this weekend? Would you mind a bystander/helper? I would really like to learn if you don't mind the company.

Hi, yes, you are welcome to come, BUT, we have never done this before. You would be learning with us. There might be tears and emotion. We are planning to start Sunday morning. Not sure what time, I'll email and PM when we figure it out. Honestly, we might not have it worked out until tomorrow evening. I will still send you info with my contact information. We also plan to do a second batch next weekend.

Hooray! Thanks. I'll give you a call this weekend. Meeting in Chandler or Tempe next week or weekend would be fine.

Great it's a date and my 13 year old fell in love at first sight as did my 6 year old grand son. Somehow we got 17 hens out of 17 chicks purchased and he will be a happy boy....

Let me know when and we will get it done....

Yay, yay, yay! Glad he is going where he is wanted. There is just something about this little guy...

Constance, I'll be around all weekend.

southerndesert, sorry about the loss of your bird. I guess the bright side of today is that you're getting that fabulous boy from Constance. I'm so jealous.

TT!, no bites on the birds? Are you getting any responses? Are you scaring them away? If I give you $9, can I eat them?
