I think ferrets are the cutest, most playful permanent kitten things around. Just can't get past that smell though, and if you could bathe it away I wouldn't keep up properly. None here.

Do make sure you check your local laws. For instance, Scottsdale allows chickens without a specified limit, but no roosters at all.

Good advice about the laws, i just play dumb, and if anyone complains about my chickens I'll be complaining about their ankle biters that bark nonstop.( and I mean nonstop!)

We might have to do that if we can't find any hatching eggs, the family has really caught hatching fever. It's funny to hear my 4 year old explain to her friends about pipping and zipping .

So I was complaining that the Monsoon Gods must not like the NW corner of Tucson, because all the rain storms pass around us in a big wide circle and we get jipped out of rain every time. It has always ticked me off to hear all about the massive storms all over Tucson, and it is dry as a bone at our house. It's been that way for the 5 years I've lived here. So I was just at Costco to get flour. Only flour. 50lbs of all purpose and 50lbs of bread flour. Instant storm as I am checking out. I make a mad dash to the car (which is of course at the outer limits of the lot) in a complete downpour. 100lbs of flour...soaked. I actually managed to get one of the soaked bags into the car with only a small tear across the middle (which spewed flour dust all over the front), but the other bag split halfway from the cart to the seat. Big pile of flour in the parking lot. Big pile in the car. Very little left in the bag. Me...soaked to my chonies.

I'M SORRY MONSOON GODS! I didn't mean it! I was obviously just grumpy that day. Of course you love us as much as the rest of Tucson. I'M SORRY!

And, uh, that SUCKS. But it is funny. LIke when the DH left concrete in the back of his truck and made me help him move them. The bags kept breaking open, while it was raining. Ihad concrete alll over me for days!
