Arizona Chickens

I think they will work it out just fine ... that is exactly how I introduce mine when I have a new one. I have the new chickens in the run, while the others are in the coop for a few hours every day. Then after they seem to not be interested in the new ones (I usually do two new ones at a time), I start letting them have supervised time out together in the run. Then when things are going well, I put the new ones on the roost at night, and see how they do in the morning. So far so good. Oh, I introduce two at a time because then it spreads the attention of the bigger birds out, and the newbie has a friend that is "safe" too.

The last time, I actually ended up introducing three, two Blue Ameraucanas (Beatrice and Bernie ... was Bernice but you know how that goes), and Flo my Blue Silkie. It was so funny because all three blues flock together, and Bernie would try to sleep under Flo's wing, even though he was bigger

Beatrice and Bernie came to me in April, and Flo a few months later once Beatrice and Bernie were ready to go into the main coop. For a while, it was like two coexisting flocks, the large fowl and Seramas in one flock, and the blue chickens in the other flock. Now they are all intermingled, but occasionally the blues still stick together. It's going to be sad moving Bernie to a new home, but I can't have a rooster.

Anyway, welcome to chickens!!! They are so fun

Ok, do you just want the long, harder feathers or all the fluffy feathers, too?

The long thin feathers are what works best for her, thank you.

I saved a box of everything for you, dry plucked. How do you clean them? Most of them are pretty clean. PM me your address and I'll stick them in the mail for you.
