Years ago I made the mistake of mentioning to my grandma I liked a blue goose design for kitchen. Next thing I knew, everything had a goose! Table cloth, clock and so froth.

Over they years they slowly had "accidents"

Hmmm... I see what Tracydr is saying by it looking like a gherkin. I never really saw a gherkin vine until I just googled it. The gherkin flower is very similar to your plant. I also don't know anything about luffas (outside of the shower), but the google showed me pics that looked like your vine too. Do you remember where the luffa seed came from and what kind it was?

I tied luffa yrs ago and all I got was a huge vine! lol... I do have a mini luff which is a ball shape and has spines. I will try and get a pic tomorrow of the gourd.

The seed pack I had for the mex. gerch. looked like a smooth fruit...

So,
Still puzzled.

I've been considering it but haven't quite done it yet. We could try together. I've had a really hard time finding raw ingredients.

I've considered it too. I can get bulk from a co-op I use, Azure Standard, but the feed I buy from them was still slightly less expensive. I feed organic though and maybe that has something to do with it.

My wife orders through Azure every now and then. I was just wondering if it would cost the same or close it would be worth it. If not no big deal, just got to figure out what to do with this shady feed.

That's what I remember about goats from my childhood. That and they like to climb on everything. I'll never forget coming home from school and finding one on top of the barn.

TT!, that is one strange vine. I don't recognize it at all. The flowers are especially odd to me. Could it be a gourd? I've never grown gourds.

I was thinking gourd too... The flowers look like gourds, they tend to be paper thin. I've grown several types and just cant think of what has spines.

TT - if you wind up with gourds, please save me a couple.

My mother carves / decorates / burns / intalagos (& every other craft verb you can think of!) them.

She won second place in a national event and has her work in the Mesa Arts Center.
