Congrats on new chickies. I have some serama that hatch, but one for some reason falls over all the time. It keeps it balance for a few seconds, but then it falls over and for the majority of the time is on its side. My husband says to cull....but I just can't. It isn't suffering it just has something wrong with it. The 4 year old holds it till it sleeps and thinks that she is the chicken mama. I am just worried it is not eating the chick start. It drinks only because I dip its beak. I am to far to get parrot baby food. any ideas on what else to try to force down it.

Tracy - they seem OK to me, though my only basis for comparison is the other 8. They are not running but are active and are scratching around. So far so good.

I'm doing battle with the light. I had it aimed at an angle and it only get's up to around 90. I put it in horizontal (aimed straight down) with the lid half on and it heated up well. I moved it back, temp dropped to 90 & chickes are huddled, not clumped, just huddled. - need more heat.

OK - gave em some more American cheese & the Cornish are running around also.

***Edited for update purposes***

Mikey, make sure you are giving them chick grit if you are feeding something other than chick mash or crumbles. They need it to break down their food.
