The funniest is when you can give them a tomato worm or some type of squirmy thing. My Cornish have filled out and look just as good as everyone else.
I hope we got the reds sorted properly. I guess if they grow anything like the Cornish we'll figure it out in a few weeks when the broilers start waddling around, three time fatter than the layers.

I left a message with Ideal, customer service wasn't open. I'm so glad your chicks are doing well. I was much more worried about your first batch doing well than mine. I would have hated if you lost a bunch on your first batch. I usually lose a chick or two in a batch of 25, more if I have Banties. But, I didn't want you to have a bad experience.
Incubating eggs is nicer. They aren't stressed from shipping so they are strong from the get go. Sometimes you might have one with a difficult hatch but most of them do great.
Anyway, everybody is up and running now.

WOW! The force is strong in this one!

I can (for the first time in my life) feel the force of "Chicken Math"!

Thank you Bill - no more peepers for Papa just yet.

That's OK Mikey, we do several batches to sell throughout the fall winter and spring as well and I can always throw a few in for you

Gave the chicks mung bean sprouts. It was the funniest feeding frenzy. One would have one in his mouth and everyone else would chase him around like it was the juiciest worm in the garden!

I have a bunch of seeds sprouting for them. Mung beans, amaranth, chia, fenugreek, wheat. My last two batches like the fenugreek the best.

My wife thinks I'm nuts...

...OK, she knows I'm nuts.

But she was watching too.

Monday at 5:45. Still have to get neighbor to sign a letter but am uninspired as to how to word it.

Dear Horse's Patootie,

I am so sorry to hear that your brains left you for greener pastures. Please give them my fondest regards. Thank you for imposing you will on my lifestyle, I sure don't know how I'd manage without your input and guidance. Maybe if I'm a good girl, by your standards of course, I could possibly have my pets back?

Thank you for your time and for allowing me my share of oxygen.

OK free fuzzy butts are all spoken for and thanks for helping us find a home for them so we can continue with project. 9 in the bator this afternoon and 3 more tomorrow...

And to the one waiting, we will have 12 in by tomorrow and hoping at least 10 candle positive in a week.... Looking at 9th and 10th October for hatch
