Wow your doing great, we must be doing something wrong. We hatched out a measly 3 chicks from I think 30 eggs. So depressing! I can't even blame it on ebay eggs this time, got them from 2 different BYCers.

Sorry to hear that.... Anytime you want to get some of our fertile eggs let me know as I have properties I manage in E. Mesa and AJ and go that way twice a month. They are mixed and straight run when you hatch, but our Roosters are doing their job pretty well. We usually get at least 80% and often better.

Pick'n for the foundation...

Off to my bud's house for some donated chain link for digger protection - then to Homer for some added digger protection!

Awesome and thanks. I'll let you know. My wife was pretty ticked to have spent that money on the shipped eggs to get lav orps and only hatched one. I doubt she'll ever let me do shipped eggs again. What kinds of roosters do you have?

Almost done

We should be able to dig deep for the chain link tomorrow. "It's like digging frosting!"

A big old BO and a RIR mix, just 2 one in each flock.

The girls are RIR, BR, EE, BA, DOM, and Wels......

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! My husband and I are out of town with the kids. It's the first weekend leaving the chooks...I didn't think it would be THIS nerve racking!

I remember that Pacu.
When I was a kid we had a pacu that outgrew our very large tank. My dad couldn't find a home for it so he let it go in Kennedy Park Lake. A couple of years later we heard on the news that someone thought they caught a Piranha in that lake. I think it was the pacu.

It probably was.

The one at the pet shop was named George. And I remember the sign on his tank saying "yes, I can still turn around" . They had him for over 30 yrs.

I'm not going to tell hubby
