Gather the cost of other hobbies: golf, car racing, even joining a gym such as Lifetime Fitness, etc., and you will be able to show her it is MUCH less expensive.

Hey, it's gotta be less expensive than welders and supplies.

But I guess that's your living. My husband's welder cost way more than my coop. What does she like to do?

Boy-O-boy Tight, I wish I had a good answer for that one!

She is either working at school or working at home. I keep encouraging a hobby but to no avail. She joins me with the things I like doing ('cept welding) dirt-biking, shooting etc... She does like camping but that too is a family activity.

Toughie to shop for also. Doesn't like knick-knacks, or jewelry or foo foo stuff.

We get along famously though.

She actually doesn't mind all that is going on now. She is helping like a trooper!

Maybe one of Y'all can get her interested in something...???

Mixed up four batches of dough with the granddaughter. Whole wheat with fresh ground wheat, one with raisins and cinnamon. Got her's baked, stuck mine in the fridge, will bake them tomorrow. Where did the day go?
I'm pooped now! I'm glad she goes home to mom!
Even the dog's are pooped!

CA - we are of one mind on that account! Our time spent together building the coop is invaluable!

Hmm...I'm not completely sure, but somehow I don't think that was what she ment. Perhaps spending time on UN-chicken related activities might be helpful.

Wait! Hold the phone!

There are UN-chicken related activities?

I'm not really sure what they are, but yeah, Mikey, I have heard that there are. They are few and far between...and you really have to make an effort to find them...but I believe they do in fact exist.

Maybe I'll google it: "Un-chicken related activities"

I knew it! NO SUCH THING!!!

I stand corrected. Well, that was the only suggestion that I had, so good luck!

In my case I got chickens--he got a boat. If I lived on 10 acres I couldn't (ans wouldn't) catch up on the fiscal equality. And the HOA took care of the cholla. However, if I can't have chokes I may just get bunnies. Heh, heh, heh...

Next meeting in a week or so, wish me luck.

OK. Taking a break for supper. Tammy made "chicken concoction"

Screen up on bottom of right (west) side. There will be siding on the top of the ends.

Grand-baby #7. We let the chickies out for about a half hour. It was really tough to put them back in their little tote.
The neighbor kids came over with their parents - before you know it one of them had an australorp in the air by the tail!

Pappa: Walt, is there enough clearance for the door.
Walt: yup, nail it.
Pappa: Are you sure, it looks tight.
Walt: Yup nail it!
Pappa: are you guaranteeing it'll fit.
Walt: It'll fit! Nail it!

This is Walt after having to mortice the hinges to make additional clearance for the door
