What do you need help on?

Question: How would I go about wiring a double-pole t-stat into this contraption instead of a single-pole? Didn't even think about it when I got the stat.

but is the homer bucket food grade plastic?

(You can usually get food grade icing buckets from grocery store bakeries free or cheap)

Do you have extra nipples I can buy from you? The ones I have leak because they knock the weight out of the top and then the water just runs out.

Anyway, Swamp cooler pads are made of excelsior & can be had locally if you need. Great idea!

I like this idea. My first thought was that they sell excelsior basket filling at Michael's but the swamp cooler pads have gotta be cheaper. Just cut them to size. I bet you could wash them out a few times before having to change them. Would they be compostable?

Cool!
Look at the cute fuzzies!

I think I need to switch over to a nipple waterer so I can use apple cider vinegar.

I was so happy to see all the chat about bathing chickens. This weekend I am going to rake out my coop, put down the pine chips and get those dirty fuzzy birds a bath.

I got my mini dome incubator. Was surprised on how flimsy it is. I sure hope it works! Seems to go up and down temperature wise but got it regulated the best I could. I put 3 silky eggs in this morning. Looks like I can put in up the 5 eggs. My girls are laying but not broody. Anyone here have luck with the mini dome?
I am happy that I found out that Stock Shop will have some silky chicks in a few weeks and they will call me when they are in. I rather have some hens. I know I hope to hatch my own but can I keep hens to breed with there father? Does that make a differance in hens? I have bred dogs most my adult life but not chickens. I need education with hens.

Wanna come over & help me find the hole saw? THAT would be great

I'm trying to get a hole in the side of this fridge in which to put the t-stat (so I can operate from the outside)...and Jason left me with very little tools to work with today. Apparently he thinks he has to WORK or something silly like that.

So I'm just pouting right now...I can't quit or I'll never hear the end of it (from myself). Just gotta find that hole saw...

If you were at Val Vista instead of Sierra Vista I'd be there no problem! Sierra Vista is another matter entirely.

On the bright side a hole saw is a great choice!

Sierra Vista is far from EVERYTHING

And, I agree, hole saw is a great option...and the only option that I can come up with to make a nice, neat hole in this box

I asked my resident chemist (AKA the Control Tower) and she said it would be fine if I scrubbed it. I scrubbed it.

Thanks for the lookout!
