So the kiddos and I wabdered into petsmart last night to try to order 1000 mealies, I was there cuz I needed food. For the hounds. I ask about ordering that many bulk mealies, and they say they don't do that. Well, I tell them that petco does and I would rather give petsmart my business. They start to scramble, my kids arw looking adorable in their brownie uniforms, boy looks ruff and tumble and me, well at least I showered and put ona hat that day as I was caring for my mom all day after chemo. So the manager comes out and says that he will get me as many little tubs as I want, they will price match petcos online price and just tell him when I want them by! Kindness does get you somewhere sometimes.

Excuse all the typos, had surgery this morning and am slightly drugged. I hurt.

Sorry, just regular house cats. Although one of them does have really funky tabby markings that make her look almost spotted.
And now, in addition to Epic's babies, I have a stray kitten who needs home. I found her this morning in the chicken run. It was really dark, and at first I thought that one of the kittens had gotten out, so I grabbed it. She seems to be healthy, except for being skinny and isn't afraid of people, so I think she is either a run away or a dump.

Just because I've nothing better to do...

Do you have an auto turner in it? I've been reading up on them and I've an idea for one.

Recipe for better soonest...

Kahula, Baileys Irish cream, Chocolate ice cream, Milk & a blender!

So this is me bragging about my welding students...

I've a student who is learning to weld aluminum. He was saddened when he heard I welded the structure of the feeder (he wanted to do it) so today he got to weld the arms to the cover. Did a pretty good job of it! It is only tacked in position now.

I discovered I made an error in calculations when I figured the hole locations for the lift up cover. I forgot to account for the difference in the material thickness between Gallo's and mine. We cut a notch out of the arms, bent them up 1/2" and welded them back together. It's the buffed area just to the right of the diamond plate.

If I have time today I'm going to stop by Copper State nut and bold and get some stainless steel button head screws for the pivots.

I love teaching!

Ok...

DH surprised me with an early birthday present
big_smile.png
of 11 OEGB chicks from Ideal (although I don't think 1 will make it)

Only thing is, they came with 10 packing peanuts. I have no idea what breed they are, but they are dark brown with small touches of yellow, including yellow splotches on their heads. I am assuming they're cockerels, but who knows for sure?? They will be full-sized chickens and we just don't have the room...even if some are hens.

Is anyone interested in these guys? If someone would like to give them a good home and they go to eventual freezer camp, that is ok with me, so long as I don't get too attached first (which makes me want to find them homes sooner rather than later) Any takers?

Also, the two adorable Silkie/Serama mixes from NurseShelly are both roos (100% sure on one, 75% on the other), and we really can't have roos here.

I have heard them both (sorta) crow (although I am still skeptical of one, sounded like mimicry??) but they don't do it much - maybe only once every few days, and can't really be heard/identified as "rooster" crows from inside the house. More like a squeaky wheeze

We are just a little worried that they will get louder and that we'll have to find homes ASAP. They are both very cuddly and sweet, and spent 1-2 hours out cuddling with us every evening until about a week ago. I would greatly prefer these sweet little guys go to good homes where they're not going to get eaten or given away on craigslist....

I don't have one...and I love ideas!!!

I made an attempt at one, but it very quickly failed. Right now I have them in a plastic refrigerator egg cover that has a handle on the bottom (or top depending on how you look at it). I prop one side on a piece of wood so that they're tilted, then 3 times a day I switch it to the other side so they tilt the other way. It's my modified, make-do, turner
