Arizona Chickens

Where is everyone? We're on the second page of recent threads and haven't even made one whole page in an entire day. What's up with that?
I think I may be close to having some layers!

Egytpians have gotten floppy, red combs in past few days and are checking out the boxes. Leghorns are letting the rooster attempt to breed them. ( he's way, way too small

) a couple of EEs, the Buttercups are also checking out the nests and the Hamburgs are also red in the face. In fact, everyone has really red face and combs except a few of the EEs. I'm getting excited! I mean, we appreciate the 5-6 banty eggs a week but it's not much of a meal, lol.

I have 12 layers (all have layed at some point) and I only get MAYBE 4-5 eggs a day. My hubby is wondering if this was such a good idea. HAHAHA...I just got 2 more fuzzy butts

I'm adding up how many eggs I'll get when everyone starts laying this spring. I may need to sell a few eggs. Maybe a few dozen a week. Wouldn't that be nice?
I can hardly wait for fresh deviled eggs with homemade mayonnaise. That's what I used to make when I had egg overloads. That and lemon merengue pie. Isn't it nice that I will be overloaded with lemons at about the same time?
Considering some bantam breeds for spring, if I trade off a few EEs. I'm not crazy about the EEs. Was thinking about maybe getting some bantam RIRs, Bantam Wyandottes. Anyone have experience with any of these? Sure wish I didn't have to get straight run, that's the only thing stopping me. What to do with a bunch of bantam roo's?
