Yup, my poor hennies have them too. Was cleaning the run today and

But I need the 5 year old to help me. He and I have a system, he holds them down and I squirt it in. But it was the boy's bedtime so we'll try tomorrow.

Last time I did it by myself. Get chickie, wrap in towel, talk to her and then grab wattles with one hand and squirt with the other! It is almost like wrestling a child who needs eye ointment/drops.

southerndesert: Thanks for the offer but that's really far! I drive a suburban so by the time I got there and back I'd probably use enough gas to buy a whole bottle.

My chickens seem OK for now so I'll wait. If things change, though, I might consider it.


Do you really have to squirt it down their throat? I read somewhere that you can put each dose in a piece of bread and feed them one at a time. That's what I was planning to do.

I suspect chickens get worms from being on ground that has had dogs on it. I feel it is best to keep them on uncontaminated soil.

I would like to but that day is full of 2 double-header softball games, musical theater performances and a sleep-over B-day party.
I've done the tour before all by myself. It would be fun to go with others. Oh well, maybe next year or when my last 2 go off to college.
