Does that face the complaining neighbors?

this email was send to me by one of my friends
that raises turkeys

Happy Thanksgiving!

Whats so happy about it?

Thousands of turkeys giving their lives so folks can have a
a thanksgiving dinner! It is a sad day when folks celebrate
the death of such a regal bird

My daughter was home from college and we went on a Thanksgiving picnic.
We had turkey (that I roasted yesterday) on homemade bread, dried cranberries, potato chips, sweet potato chips, fresh carrots and snow peas, and pumpkin cookies.
We skipped rocks in the river, watched killdeer and a blue heron catch fish, and went on a hike where we stalked and watched wild horses.
It was a great day!

I'm so jealous! That sounds like an absolutely delightful way to spend the day. Where did you see wild horses? I have yet to see a wild horse in AZ, although we haven't gone specifically to look for them either. A couple years ago I was in my boat fishing in a remote section of Lake Pleasant when I heard something coming over a hill. To my surprise there were about 40 wild burros that walked right past me on a trail along the edge of the water. I knew they existed in the state, but I had no idea that they'd be so close to Phoenix. I was also surprised that they'd be in such a large herd!

I'd like to give her an egg but the Roo's been so busy with the big girls that none of the eggs are fertile. ( his parts only reach about 1/3 of the way down their back) looking for just one or two banty eggs- OEGB, bantam Brahma, etc. would love a Serama egg or two.
Don't want to ship, it's just too expensive, although I found red Dorking eggs and might try it next spring. Just want an egg or two for the poor little girl.

Go out on the Tonto National Forest desert land near Rio Verde, right side of the road, around 150th-160th and you'll see some for sure. I've even seen black tail deer there, although in the dozens of times out there, I only saw the deer once. I've seen the horses almost every time.
We hunt the Paradise Valley Beagles out there on jackrabbits. ( no-kill, just chase) A real, traditional, English hunt, horses and hounds, from December to March, most Sundays and sometimes Thursdays. Not always out there, we go to White Tanks and a few other fixtures as well.
