Snow was fun, I remember sledding as a kid & that is the only regret I have about bringing my kids up in AZ but we get to go camping & dirtbike riding - stuff that wasn't available to me as a kid in NY.

Ok, Ok, I have to chime in. I LOVE Arizona. The Valley, not so much, I'm from up North. Here's a picture of my parent's place, where I grew up, last January. That's my oldest, then 5, on the right side tramping through the snow.

), I haven't planted either of those two, but it looks like they are out of the Roseborough anyway, so that just leaves the Brison. I have had very good luck growing blackberries here. Meyer lemons are one of the sweetest of the lemons, and a favorite of both my mom and grandma (and they know citrus, my grandparents still work their many hundred acre citrus orchard in Florida). I have found, though, that a lot of recipes that call for lemons will specifically say "Not Meyer", because it just doesn't have the right acidity. So I guess it depends on what you are going to be doing with them. They make great lemonaid. As for grapes, I have Flame and Thompson planted. They were just planted earlier this year, and haven't produced yet, but grew very well and the heat never seemed to phase them. I haven't ever grown nectarines, so I have no input.

Well... it must have been a hallucination - that or all the pear talk around here...

I live by Roosevelt Lake and there are 4 Bald Eagles, 2 adults and 2 babies that perch right below my house, (they nest at the lake) not to mention the hawks that fly by hourly and sometimes land next to the coop. I have had shade cloth on my pen for 5 years with no problems. I think you will be fine.
