Arizona Chickens

We just got back from our math class. These weeks are getting really long.

I've no time to hang out with the chickens. I've asked a buddy of mine who wastes his mornings chasing a small white sphere around a lawn with a stick to get me a half dozen of them for the nest boxes.

One Dot is a squatt'n lady & I'm hoping to see brown ovoids in the boxes soon!

Have a great evening folks!

If anyone orders from Azure Standard and is interested I just received my order of organic "chicken wheat". It was fairly inexpensive so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was at my drop point when the driver arrived so he was asked about it. He said it was mainly broken pieces with a little chaff. Ripped open the bag when I got home to throw some out to the girls. I saw very few broken berries and just a couple pieces of chaff in the bowlful that I scooped up for them. I'm sure I'll find more chaff as I go but it looks pretty clean. In a pinch, I would use it for grinding for myself.

That sounds great. How much did it cost? Do they charge shipping?

50 lbs. is $14.20 for the organic chicken wheat. Azure does ship by UPS but I can't imagine it being cost effective. If you order at least $50 worth of items shipping is free to a drop point location that orders at least $550 as a group. I don't know if they have drop points in Tucson. A quick call to them would let you know.

Azure offers all kinds of products, not just bulk grains. I love them and get everything from raw cheese to laundry soap.

They have drop points in Tucson. My mom did it for awhile, but she can't really lift anything too heavy and didn't always have luck showing up at the right time to get help.
I get my chicken feed and other things from Azure standard here in Gilbert.

I have an Egg Angel

GrannysRoost has offered me the loan of one of her incubators until mine gets here. My Marans eggs are expected tomorrow. I'm picking up Debs incubator on Saturday. Her generosity is so incredible!

THANK YOU DEB !!!! (can I see your chicken set up too?)
