Arizona Chickens

terrible ending to a nice day. i have 8 cutsie pootsie silkie babies from the NYD hatch that are 6 weeks. ok, so they hatched a tad early because i am impatient. imagine that. but when i came home yesterday i noticed that one was huddled in the corner of the growout pen by herself, head pulled in and all puffed up. they have been on medicated feed since hatch, water changed daily and just moved out to that pen 3 weeks ago. no sneezing or anything like that, everyone else fine and happy running around. i isolated her in a cage with the ecoglow and treated for cocci right away. she was going downhill fast. she was dead this morning at 6am when i checked on her

Any feed back on the shirts? What was the actual gildan t-shirts that you liked mike and I will match blues with the kids shirts and ladies and tanks. just send me a link and I will get busy on it.

They all have a bright blue color
kids tanks - 9080 $6.36 turquiose
ladies tanks - 4000 $5.40 Heather saphire
ladies t-shirts -64000L $4.92 turquoise

I think it was the indigo blue on the other gildan brand that was suggested

My favorite eating eggs are pheasant. YUMMM. It does take quite a few for a really good breakfast though. Maybe one day I'll have pheasants again

.

I really messed up on the quail eggs mailed to me with my incubator. I was given a tracking number for the incubator but it also said the eggs would be sent the week of the 30th. I just don't go down to my mailbox that often unless I'm expecting something. Do almost everything online. On Tuesday I figured I'd better start checking it for the eggs and there was a notice that I had a package from GQF and it had been there since the 26 (or was it the 25th?). Got to the PO as soon as it opened and got those little suckers. Figured they settled long enough at the PO so I set them last night.

Any idea how long quail eggs are viable?

Quail eggs are supposed to be great--just takes a few to equal a chicken egg, lol!

So sorry to hear that. Just breaks your heart when something like this happens.( I lost another gal last Thursday- 2 girls in two weeks) Maybe she ate something that she shouldn't? Could have been she was born with something? You are a good chicken mama!!! Hugs to you.

Chris, who did you lose and what happened? So sorry. Just for this reason, I don't name any of my chickens anymore. I stopped last summer and for some reason, it makes it a tad easier when something happens.
