Arizona Chickens

I went to the feedstore today, and got a bag of chick starter. Along with 2 Buff Orps and....two RIRs. I justified it to myself that since I'm brooding them on the patio, there is warmth in numbers. But the truth is that I'm weak for little fuzz balls.

I for one is very excided, I don't know if one of my designs was used or not! Mikey do yourself a favor and round the price up to the nearest dollar. You deserve it and it will make change giving a lot easier. I am going to give you $3.00 a shirt for my order.

Actually I need $3.22 for the adult shirts - the extra is for shipping - I prolly should have just included that in the price - still learning

I am sad. My poor old silky Sage is totaly blind. I noticed that I was able to catch her very easy and when I put her down I noticed she was a bit unsteady on her feet. I know she is old and not laying anymore but then today I saw her shuffling along with her beak to the ground. I went over and waved my hand in front of her face and then picked her up and she never did any blinking. The eyes are not clouded but no responce. She isn't interested in food. Chickens most eat with their eyes more than smell. Poor old dear was such a good nanny bird. She took under her wing literaly Ivan and then 3 young chicks I put with the flock. I can't let her suffer if she isn't eating! I don't know how to put her down if that is the best thing!

Here's Penny...sitting on an egg. I know she's not broody, but when I saw her scoop her egg under her with her beak and gently sit down on it, I had a moment of wanting to frantically find some fertilized eggs. *sigh*

It is good to see everyone again! There are lots of familiar faces, and lots of new ones, too :)

Mikey D - what are these shirts that you are talking about? Did I miss an oportunity to submit some of my amazing artwork??
What kind of chicks are you raising this time? I've read that mixing ground oatmeal into their food prevents the sticky butt.
I am sorry TT, you did.

I screwed up the order and got 9 extra shirts

(Tammy is not really pleased with my organizational skills)
