Arizona Chickens

I don't know Will, looks like rather large legs to me.

Hey, this is totally not chicken related but I wanted to spread the word...We did an estimate today to spray a lady's olive trees. Imagine her surprise when we told her one of her trees was a young Swan Hill, which does NOT produce olives. She had paid a tree company $75 to spray it last year. I got so mad when DH told me I just had to spread the word for any of you who have Swan Hills. They DO NOT need to be treated (unless they are old, then they might produce a FEW olives). I just hate it when I hear about companies taking advantage of people. Grrrrr....

Ok, I'm done.
Makes me sick and so ticked! Especially when they run ads constantly too.

Okay Peepers.. You said to come back at you with more pictures as the peeper grws, and you might be able to answer if it is a pullet or not.. The small picture is the original 10 day old shot of the peeper in question.. The larger pictures are the 8 wee old shots of the same peeper.. Sooo, what's your guess now.?.. Will

My guess is Roo.

These are my BA's at 6 weeks old. You can definately tell one is a roo. He crowed at 9 weeks.

hey kev,

how are your basque chickies looking? if i am right, i have 3 roos and a pullet? what are the chances you have 2 pullets and want a roo? 3 are way bigger than the other and are coloring in differently than the little one. i did some research and the pullets feather in like a barred buff, the boys that wild white with everything else mixed in. i can't have 3 boys.

i just had a little blue silkie crow for the first time yesterday at 10 weeks old. sounded like someone stepped on him.

I am pretty sure we ended up with one of each. The male feathered out a little ahead of the female which threw me off for a while. The male is mostly white like you said but its comb is visible already and his feet are huge! I was hoping that maybe you were going to end up with one more pullet then you wanted, guess not. Sorry that really stinks. Do you think they still have some from that same batch?

I was watching outside and I noticed one of the roos did his little foot stomp dance in front of another chicken. Weird thing is that we always thought it was another cockerel. It's an English Orp so its big and fuzzy. Any chance it could be a hen and the rooster knows something we don't?

but like you said on those basque, the males are feathering in faster than the female. darn it. i am going to call her to see if she has any more from that batch. do you want an extra roo? really, i can't have 3 roos. these chickies are way too expensive to eat.
