How do you order a 2 month supply? it only gives amounts in 50lb bags..

apropos to your nomenclature, I lent my dad two full size helium tanks - the 5-1/2' tall really heavy ones...

One rolled out onto my step mom's foot (yes fractured)

So I now call her Bootsie!

Delivery date is April 1st (no, really!) Order a 2 month supply as we do it every 2 months to insure the freshest feed!

Ok, I figured out the "mystery" Broody is EATING HER EGGS! I caught her in the act. She now has three eggs. What do I do? My Ameraucana isn't acting broody anymore, so I can't stick them under her. Help!!!!

I have read somewhere that if the nesting box is made short (so they can't stand up straight), they will be much less likely to eat their eggs from a squat. Haven't tried it. How much of her history do you know?? How was her protein intake before you got her?? Wonder if egg eating was the reason they got rid of her?? Maybe if you keep food close to her and give her a couple spoonfulls of canned salmon every day....to distract her and keep her protein up??

or.....buy an incubator.

It turned out that the RIR wasn't the only egg eater I had

. Today, I caught one of the White Leghorns orange beaked as she was eating an egg. This really sucks, both because of the egg eating, and because this is the first major problem I've had with my flock. I processed her right away, and I really hope I don't have to cull any more birds.

Thanks, Bootsie! I will try the salmon. I put her feeder so close to her that she doesn't have to get up to eat, and she chowed down. Up until today, she would leave her nest for a while and wander around, dust bathe and what not. But today she was off for no more than 5 minutes. She wasn't getting up to eat or drink. The lady I bought her from had been breeding, but decided to downsize her flock. She knew I was buying her for the eggs, so I dont think she has a history of egg-eating. I really want her to incubate and raise the chicks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It is on pallets and they unload the truck with forklifts. Then they send everyone an e-mail and you just go pick it up within 24 hours. Here is part of the e-mail I got last time.


*WHERE TO PARK*: To pick up, at the location, drive around to the rear of
the building, which is through a red gate on the south side of the
building. Feed will be at the 2nd set of large roll-up doors on the right
once through the gate. The roll up doors should be open. The 5 pallets of
feed may be visible just inside the doors. There are 16 different types of
feed on these pallets, so there may be a bit of sifting required, please
read the bags and double check once you have loaded your order to avoid a
2nd trip.

If you are among the first to arrive, and find you are sifting through the
feed, please place each feed type in groupings which allows ALL to read
the labels of each bag.
