Arizona Chickens

I'm dreading the summer.

Rufus told me I needed to turn on my AC at least every few weeks to keep my unit running good.

I did that and it's not working... I'll call an AC guy to see if he services the smaller units, if he doesn't I'll have to buy another one. I don't want chickens plopping over all summer long.

I'll be saying goodbye to two EEs and 3 Icelandic roos this week.

I still haven't sold my Red Sussex pair, I'm just lazy I guess, but DW said she heard a crow this morning so it might have been him as I watched him do the deed with an Ameraucana hen this week. He hatched Dec. 11th, do you think he'd be fertile this soon?

Good morning Puffycheeks. Don't forget to send me a picture of the chicks you got from me. I wonder if they look like Polish the same as my two smooth feathered one do. Polish are so cute!

Here is Puffycheeks little bucky. Had his horns burned off a couple of days ago. He is 3 weeks old now. He is the blond one. The other is a little buck also and only 1 day younger. Mother Kate is with him in one picture.

Back again. I don't exactly frequent this thread, but I do lurk occasionally. Maybe I'll try coming around more often.

Two quick questions- Where is the best place to buy shade cloth? My dad isn't sure, and what with money being as tight as it is (curse thee, gas and taxes!) we want a good price for about 6 sq. feet.
Secondly, anyone from the East Tucson area going up to Phoenix any time soon? PuffyCheeks has most generously offered a few baby chicks to make up for the birds I've lost (two this week alone) but seeing as she's up there and I'm down here...

I can chip in for gas, if it helps.
