I am so sorry for all of the losses the past couple of days. I am sending good vibes out for all of the sick and/or injured that you all are nursing back to health.

I just found out that two of my March chicks are roos. They both just started crowing.
I'm soooooo sad about it. I will eventually have to give them up, as I am w/in the city limits.

No way can I catch up on all the news I missed over the last three weeks, but reading the last few pages, it sounds like there have been a lot of us hit with sad events. Hoping that all the illnesses clear up and there are no more marauding predators.

I was a bit worried about what I would come home to, but other than pens that desperately need cleaning, babies that need a lot more room, and a very large gosling who thinks he is a chick, everything seems pretty good.

This was an interesting sight on the road this morning:

Growing up, I used to think that geese were just mean honkers. Then I got my Nana and Poppy... my male and female African Geese. Who knew they were such heart melters? I loves my Nana and Poppy <3 Seeing the geese in this pic is soooo cute! Nana seems to be recovering from the dog attack. Poppy seems to be getting worse. He is wheezing loudly, but not consistently. Keep fingers crossed that he pulls through ok. And good news! The dog owner said he will get rid of the dog in the next couple of days! YAY! Peace will be restored and the terror will end. Huzzah! I am so thankful that he is an understanding neighbor.

Well Hoppy still has a little wetness around her nostril - nothing like it was but it is still there.

Her eye is swollen as well.

One more day of treatment & hopefully it goes away...
 
Oxine adventure/respiratory issues -

Been doing the Crane fogger (0.9 gal tank capacity at 6.0 oz Oxine) on our wheezy Serama since yesterday afternoon. I have been bringing her in for breathing treatments of about 10 minutes each then putting her back outside. I've done 3 or 4 now. She's had this issue since last fall and this is kind of a last ditch effort.

Through her breathing issues she has continued to have a good appetite, be aggressive and is still high in the pecking order. Her breathing/energy level seems worse overall now since the heat hit, but she is also broody. When she gets exited and breathes more heavily she wheezes. I'm wondering if she has something like valley fever or even asthma/allergies? Everyone else is fine.

I am hoping that she's got a fungal deal that this will address, or something else that the Oxine can help with. She's done full courses of antibiotics in the past with no effect. But I'm not seeing any improvement (yet with the Oxine). We put her in a carrier with the fogger in with her and turn it on high so the inside is pretty fogged.....let her sit in there about 10 minutes and then before I take her out I fog her right in the face a few times.

is there anything we're missing you all can think of that we can try?

Do those treatments four or five times a day. From what I've read, the longer the fungal infection has to take hold, the more difficult it can be to cure with oxine. The fungus can get inside the lung tissue where the oxine can't reach.
