Arizona Chickens

OK - this is a high priority task!

Go make a PBJ sandwich...

...and feed it to your chickens!!!

You have not lived until you've seen a bunch of cluckers bouncing around with peanut butter stuck to the roof of their beaks!

Gold Bar, gorgeous little silkie roo on facebook in N Phoenix...never mind they took him off, looked like a buff with some black to rehome. Kind of weird because someone with an avatar the same from here posted ...
I just saw that and was going to post on here. Here is what was on Facebook...

"This Silkie rooster needs a forever home. He is approximately 7 months old and lives in North Phoenix, Arizona (between Bell Rd and 40th St).
If you are interested, please contact Kerry at: [email protected] or 602-405-6734"

LOL! I can't wait! PBJ is one of the most-left-over lunches we have around here!

This is probably going to be one of the stupid newbie questions LOL but I was wondering if I need to do anything about it. My youngest two hens, a few months old, sleep on the roost with their heads hanging down over the edge. Their beaks are pointed towards the ground. The roost is 4 inches wide. Is that normal? My older two keep their heads upright when they sleep. Should I do anything? It looks uncomfortable. Won't the blood rush to their head or something?

I have seen young ones sleep like that too. It gave me the creeps!! But, the chickens were fine with it. They must have out grown it.
