Arizona Chickens

Only 4 eggs today. 1 Leghorn & 3 Icelandics.... thank goodness I have the Icelandics.

Am I missing something Mahonri? I thought you were lucky to get an egg a day per hen. Seems like perfection to me. Do the Icelandics lay more than average or something?

The pot luck was fantastic. It was great to meet new people and see old friends. A HUGE thank you to Gallo and family for hosting this event!

All the Sonoran toads are out tonight and you would not believe how loud they are. It sounds like a huge flock of geese and ducks all honking at the same time.

Too cool!!!

Oops! After you mentioned that, I noticed the Hatch-Along link in your signature. And then I went back to his signature and noticed the list... I do believe Mahonri may just be the Founding Father of "chicken math" and "chicken weird." Someone needs to create a running cartoon dedicated to him...

That Hatch-Along sounds pretty interesting. I'm loving this group. You all are great.

Wow, what a night! The last of the BYCers just left. We had a fantastic time with such a wonderful group of people. I can't wait to do this again.

I'm sorry I missed it! Sounds like everyone had a great time.

We are having the breakfast of champions!
Eggs from our own hens, mixed together with some milk, a dash of sugar, a pinch of salt, and a dash of chinese 5 spice (secret ingredient) to make the french toast batter.
Then we used sweet Hawaiian bread for the toast in the french toast.
And for the topping we are cooking up frozen fresh berries (blackberry, blueberry, and rasberry) mixed with some milk and sugar!
