Call Ashley Hill at 623-703-3888. We got our wonderful Nubian Reggie from them. They have Lamacha's and going to start breeding them. Even tho I don't think they have any to sell now they may know where you can get some. best of luck.Any goat people here? I'm going to be looking for a couple of either bred or freshened Lamancha does soon. They don't have to be registered but they do need to be from CAE, CL clean herd.
Any contacts would be appreciated.
Thanks
Sherrie
My understanding is that in the northern, more forested areas of the state, ticks are pretty common. Pretty uncommon here in the Phoenix area, though, and I think the same for Tucson. If you want tick control, get guineas. They also make incredibly good watch animals. While I have no experience with this in AZ, it is my understanding that chickens are not the best birds at controlling the types of ticks that get on dogs. They will, however, occasionally get on chickens. Thankfully, the types of ticks that prefer birds are relatively rare (although they show up in my coop every summer).
So, since it came up with eating bugs... Do chickens eat ticks, too? Last summer we had a problem with my Shepherd having ticks, either from the house's previous owners or any of our many neighbors. It's a problem in Arizona, period. I was wondering if chickens would help that problem. Or is it more of a problem with the ticks attacking the chickens, too?
