Arizona Chickens

Unfortunately, for me, the housework and chores don't end just because it breaks 110* for the day. That would be wonderful! I think we should pass a new law here in Arizona that all public swimming pools and waterparks are open and free of charge on all days that are forecasted to be over that temperature. This is the only BYC page I am active on, so I can't say how the rest of the Forum goes. My motorcycle and truck ones are rather slow, too.

Speaking of outside, I have to go take down my American Flag. I just noticed it is torn really badly, which is an absolute shame. It was bought about six months ago. Are we outsourcing our Nation's Flag to China, too? Good riddance.
Unfortnately yes, make sure you see the made in the usa logo when you purchase!

If folks are anything like me after tending to the chooks and other outside anmials the only thing I want to do is get a popcycle and lay down.

Key word here is WANT. Me too. Unfortunately my job requires I be on my computer all day. I need a break from reading and writing code, and just want to think of my chickens and come here. I can see my chickens out my office window 3-4 days a week and they distract me from my work on occasion.

And right now, after only 4 hours of sleep I could easily have a popcycle and take a nice long nap. I have to work until 3:30 then kids homework, then off to the gym. Fun Fun.

Strange to have them start on the same day. I have 5 girls that were hatched the same day. None of them laid their first on the same day. Could you have missed the first shelless egg one day and just happened to see it the following day after the same hen laid again?
There's no way I could have missed it. I just wonder if she laid two together. She hasn't laid any more. She will hopefully be an olive egger, so I'm excited for her to start laying eggs!

Hey Sista, I hear ya. I was also wondering why all of a sudden it seemed like everyone disappeared. Are you all on other pages? Just wondering too!
I'm not on as much...school started.

oh yes she was a beautiful girl. sorry for your loss.

itsredcandy, i so wish i read this earlier. i had been saving some of my ee eggs because i wanted to incubate them. then decided i didnt need to so now they are sitting in the fridge!! i got rid of my ee roo this weekend too so any eggs i get now will be mutts, lol.
however, let me know if your hen goes broody again, i will give you eggs if you wanna give me back the mutt chicks. i'm in central mesa.

Could you look at these chicks and tell me if you think they are black sex link or barred rock? (shaking head) These 2 are the least friendly of the chicks and were not happy about my cell phone being in the brooder.

The little black one is not a BR, so must be BSL. If the barred little guy is BSL too, then he is all boy. BSL Cockerels would look just like BR at this age. Checking a website. I think BR can be sexed by the dots like Dominique. Will let ya know if I find any info. here is a link to sexing BR chicks https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/305875/barred-rock-chick-sexing Are the true feathers coming in mostly white or black?? (White is roo) I am guessing cockerel, but read through the thread and see what you think.
