Chunnel dimensions?

In the burbs

My three girls have been freeranging-I mean pooping all over my patio- for the past year. So I'm not sure if they'll be satisified with the 4x4 additional run I built today. They sure aren't happy in their 4x8 playhouse for too long.

Anyway, we have to overseed the yard next week and I'd rather not have them eat that "stuff".

-my backyard property has a 3 ft grave/rock border down the left side. I'd like to connect the "playhouse" (4x8) which is under that shady tree against the backwall and the run (3x4) also under the shady tree against the left wall (behind the treehouse) & another run next to the house (see that lil 50-52 inch width of unused space between the house & the blockwall).
The chunnel can't be "unsightly" as my hubby would say. It would run against the block wall fence; so I really only need to "fence" the side & top.

My problem is that it would run behind the swing set, so I need to know how low (16", 20", 24"??) I can make it and still have it be manageable for them. (Barred Rock) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking I could possibly use the yardgard garden fence and try to make a "hoop" run? Trying not to spend any $$ BTW, a couple of unemployed accountants here.

Seriously Gross picture coming up...

This was on the patio with the chicken poop this morning. WTH? I've been feeding them chili seeds every 3 months; so I'm praying this isn't some kind of worm.
