My favorite part of the last few pages is that someone said, "I even put peanut butter on the nipples."
and no one laughed or even raised an eyebrow.

I made my first waterer out of one of the orange buckets from HD, but I had added an extra hole for the pipe extension I had planned. I had thought to make an extension for the (now) broody bantam, but it turned out she didn't need it and didn't want it, so I replaced that whole bucket with one I received from a market that I shop at. They are now saving their buckets from me as I have been making waterers for others that have never seen them. All my watering buckets are now white, but I have to say, I don't think the color effected the chickens at all. The first group took maybe fifteen minutes to learn what it was, and the since the two runs are close together, the second group was attacking the nipples even as I was adding water to their bucket.

My wife has a friend here in Tucson--with chickens- who just posted a video on Facebook of a bobcat eating one of her chickens in broad daylight.

People don't want to believe they're out there, especially in town. They think that because they haven't seen them, surely they must not exist. My wife's friend said this happened mid-day today. She heard the chickens sound the alarm and she ran out to find the bobcat with the chicken. The real freaky thing is the cat wouldn't back down. It stood right there eating and growled at her when she tried to chase it away.

Hi all.

My beautiful Icelandic roo, Drekki Jr was too loud so I had to send him to Boston's Icelandic flock in Heber.

Would anyone like to hatch some purebred Icelandic eggs?

I don't want to have to pull out my bator (my wife would have a cow... especially cuz she doesn't know about the Ornamental Layers that will be arriving from McMurray the first week of February) but I would like about four chicks from Drekki Jr. You incubate my eggs all I ask is four chicks, you keep the rest.
... and when my new Blue Wheaten Roo starts doing his thing, I'll share those eggs with any helpers.

I saw a coyote less than a mile from my home last week. (south) I saw a different coyote a mile and a half north the week before. They seem to be living in the city here somewhere. What do coyotes do, dig holes in the ground to live or do they stay under someone's oleanders.
