Arizona Desert?

Thought those mountains looked familiar. I'm in Ash Fork. I hope to make it to a chickenstock but wish we could have one in N. Arizona. We had freezing weather last week and now it is very warm. We are tryng to get our garden going too. Last year the grasshoppers ate too much of it so we got some chickens now to eat them.

Yeah, we're on Mountain Standard (MST); that means no having to reset our clocks biannually for Daylight Savings Time! Yatta!

DDawg......that's because everybody else does Daylight Savings but us. I just deal with the difference until DST ends (or does it begin?) in the fall.

I am living in an apartment in Tucson, and delight in calling other parts of the US during winter and comparing temperatures. I know it is evil, but it is so very fun.

My six month old Silkie wears a diaper and lives indoors. The eight chooks are growing too fast to be put in diapers, but right now are living indoors also. I have a pen outdoors in the patio / very small back yard and they visit out there to see what dirt is. The soil is so dead that I have to buy them bugs and greens.

Hopefully, soon we will find a better place to live and spread our wings properly.

What do you raise? Got chooks April 1, 2007.
The chooks were ordered from Ideal through a feedstore in Three Points. The feedstore said they would buy back all that grew into roos, and any that weren't compatible.

2 Buff Silkies
3 Millie Fleur D'Unccles (few spots, buff w black)
3 Red Frizzles (maybe cochins) Two look like home perms -Which twin has the Toni?, and One has soft smooth mahogany feathers.
