It gets 100+ outside but I have a lot of shade where the quail will go. Is 3 weeks too soon to put them outside in this heat? I have a couple of water baths (small) for them. 6 quail chicks

its very okay as long as its draft free areaIt gets 100+ outside but I have a lot of shade where the quail will go. Is 3 weeks too soon to put them outside in this heat? I have a couple of water baths (small) for them. 6 quail chicks
i think you better wait a few more weeksIt get's up to 47.8 C (118 F) here.
It's still pretty hot in Arizona. Last week got up to 117 here. I would wait a few weeks if you can. My Pedro is one year old and is having trouble with the heat. She spends most of the day on her ice towel panting with her wings out. I wish I could bring her back in the house, but she is too messy now. If you do put them outside, I recommend providing a wet towel with ice bricks (cubes melt too fast).
Instead of a water bath, take 2 litre bottles, fill them about 2/3 with water, then freeze them.I keep mine on the ground, on my side yard, but enclosed in a 2’x8’ run with a hutch attached to the bottom end. How do you give the ice bricks? Are yours on wire or the ground? I’ve considered a water bath for them in the summer, but wondering if it will cause a lot of mud…
