Arkansas Blue egg layers

Pics
Here he is after a bath & nail/spur trim For a bird living out in pasture since Sep/Oct 2014, he was surprising polite to shampoo & blow dry. No biting or spurring. He's fat, no bugs, & good-looking poo. Yay for free-range.
I thought those pics were a fake bird. He's standing so perfect! Come tell my birds to behave like that ;)

If you use CCL x Blue Arkansas (ie not splash or black)  you will get 50% barred black and 50% barred blue birds with red leakage.
so it will hatch out blue or black at first. Correct? I'm thinking a blue barred blue layer would be nice! This is what I got today. I'm leaning toward recessive white in light of your input. But the problem is I haven't seen recessive white pullets or cockerels

I think he was still in shock from the bath & blow.
Right after, he flew up to the top of the shower door & crowed.
I'm sure my neighbors are like "What the...?!?"
He's so clean I just want to snuggle & scratch him & he wants nothing to do with that. :|

These are the only birds I have that scream the entire time I am holding them to move them. I move all of mine at night and all the rest of them (especially my HRIR and Rhodebar) just kind of look at me and settle back down. These scream like guineas and you can NEVER get into their pen without them alerting no matter what time of night it is.

I had a lot of fun worming mine.

Last week we adjusted the splash boys rooster collar and trimmed his spurs and nails. He did not scream but was not happy with us. I had to lay him down to get the trimming done.

This is all another reason why they are good at free ranging and getting away from predators. It is great that they are alert in the dark like that!
