Arkansas Blue egg layers

Pics
I have noticed that my roo is not a frequent crower, but he ALWAYS lets out a bGAWK - bock-bock when he hears or sees me. And he is good with his girls, never causes them to flee or struggle while breeding.

These are the only birds I have that scream the entire time I am holding them to move them.  I move all of mine at night and all the rest of them (especially my HRIR and Rhodebar) just kind of look at me and settle back down.  These scream like guineas and you can NEVER get into their pen without them alerting no matter what time of night it is.
My original hen is like that, however my rooster is really mellow. He doesnt fuss if i go into the pen or even when i pick him up.

Well, the rooster and hen that Keeper was nice enough to send to me are lost. The last scan that they show was in San Francisco on Monday. Neither of the sorting centers in my area have received the or have any idea where they could be. They were very nice and took my number and will call me if they do happen to show up. I am very glad that they were adult birds as it is going to be in the single digits tonight. I'm not sure if these have ever been exposed to those temps coming from CA.

Keep your fingers crossed for me and them.

GEEZZ

I am keeping fingers crossed ... wouldn't you think that anyone with a brain and 1/2 functioning heart would take extra care when dealing with live animals???

Sheez ... I have a hen and roo that hatched out last spring ... I would assume they are related so not the best prospects for breeding ... but I could see if I can get you fertile eggs from them in a month or so ....

Keep us posted !

fingers crossed here.

They were scanned into the Little Rock airport as arrived at 8:34 AM. Oddly enough, that wasn't posted even internally at the PO when I started calling. Unfortunately, the PO closes at 2:00 which means that the birds won't make it today. Another truck doesn't leave the sorting center in Fayetteville until 5:00 PM tonight. I'm going to start making calls to see if I can intercept it somewhere.

My dominant one crows all day long. The submissive one is the egg protector he sings with the girls. LOL Both are total gentlemen compared to the old one.

Oh noes, *crosses everything* I hope you find them soon. If it's anything like our PO hopefully someone will go hunting for them. The scans are always wrong when I check.

They are always farther down the line.

They are not going to be delivered until late tonight after everything closes or early in the morning. The local postmaster is going to go over and open early to check for the package. They should be OK, it is just upsetting. I'm just glad it is not chicks. They would not have made the temp and delay.
