An impromptu Vacation !

of course, that means you may not get your beach vacation this summer - but at least your ladies have a change for something to break well for them.

Is there a standard most folks are breeding to or like myself, just trying to get hens that lay lots of beautiful blue eggs? I've had someone laying nice blue eggs this spring and today figured out who it was. She is the result of crossing a Cream Legbar over an EE that lays off white eggs.

Planning on crossing her with Ark Blue. I thought she was going broody so late afternoon I removed all but a few eggs and marked the remaining ones. When I checked tonight to see if she was still there, I found her new blue egg; but she was roosting.

I don't know of a set standard other than being BBS coloring. From the original thread it seemed the intention was specifically for a prolific blue egg layer. I would prefer not to have a specific standard for body type etc because I would prefer to select for production value just like you.
