Arkansas Blue egg layers

I know ! everyone wants to buy fertile eggs and peeps NOW - when it is so cold my hens are only grudgingly giving me eggs - far too much to ask for them to go broody until well into JUNE ! ha ha ha ha

Ok, soon as I start shipping. And without you I would not have such a diverse group, so I think I owe you.

Two reasons I'll have to wait to ship - temps up here are peaking around 10 degrees, too cold for shipping. And these are all young girls recently in lay, so egg size needs to come up a little. I did not hatch until summer last year. My plan is to leave both boys in with all the girls, so a good mix of genes.

I am doing my first test run in the incubator now - mostly mixed eggs but 4 pure AB - so crossing fingers :) I am starting to get the local / regional people interested in this over other types of blue layers - so will really be glad to get a good mix of new genes !!! :) You guys are great !

Muttsfan - the later the shipping to me - the better anyway - her in Vermont the ground is still solid ICE in most places - so even a week of decent weather will hardly make any difference - I have a batch just started in my only incubator so can't put them in now anyway ... help the lower parts of the country first :) Spring will come here soon - wow will I love to put my roo over any hens I get from your group next spring !

I hope you have a great hatch!

Me too.

I'm unlikely to ship until end of March, as I will be out of town mid March. Unless someone wants eggs shipped around the 12th, which I could do. So far I've had several interested folks, but temps up here are so cold well into the end of March that I don't like to ship eggs until it warms up a little. The eggs sit in the coop sometimes all day before I can collect them, and there's no telling which were cold for longer.

While temps remain cold (12 this am) the girls are really ratcheting up laying, and egg size is improving as well. If anyone wants an early shipment, I would be able to send eggs out early next week. If you want to get eggs when the weather warms, and egg size is larger, it will be April before i will ship again. PM me with your preferences

That is great news!
