Arkansas Blue egg layers

For anyone that I have on my waiting list for hatching eggs, I may not be able to ship any. We had a big windstorm night before last. When I got home last night I found that it had blown a coop door open which belonged to my Blues. My rooster is injured, and I don't think he is going to make it. My backup blue cockerel has an injured leg which looks like it could prevent him from being able to walk which could impair breeding ability. If I can't find another cockerel locally, I will have to grow out chicks before I have any more available. I immediately went to the coop and grabbed all available eggs and will collect the next few days and set everything that is laid.

Keep your fingers crossed for me. I put a request out on the Facebook group for this breed. Hopefully one of the few breeders locally will have an extra cockerel or rooster.

Do you need a blue? I might be able to retrieve one of the 3 splashs I sold last year. I hatched eggs from @ronott1 .
They were hatched 5/23/14.

Unfortunely the 8 that I hatched out about three or four years ago I let go to someone, I think they let them all FB to someone else and I don't know of anyone around here with them other than you. Too bad I didn't keep mine and breed them on. I just lost interest in them.

Crystal, so sorry to hear about your birds! Hopefully you can find a new boy. I had one spare cockerel last year but he is recessive white I believe and I rehomed him. Good luck.

A splash works for me. That is what my primary breeder is right now. I appreciate the help. Even if I find one locally I always like to have at least two in case of accidents. Just let me know. Thank you so much.

Crystal, if you cant find one locally i could give you a blue cockerel... I ve never shipped any birds so dont know what the rules are. Just let me know how you make out and then we can figure out the logistics if you still need one.

Thank you very much. My splash rooster did die yesterday. Luckily I have about a dozen eggs I have collected so far. They should be fertile for another couple of days which will (barring incubation issues) give me a good start on spring chicks.
