Well, the rooster and hen that Keeper was nice enough to send to me are lost. The last scan that they show was in San Francisco on Monday. Neither of the sorting centers in my area have received the or have any idea where they could be. They were very nice and took my number and will call me if they do happen to show up. I am very glad that they were adult birds as it is going to be in the single digits tonight. I'm not sure if these have ever been exposed to those temps coming from CA.

Keep your fingers crossed for me and them.

Ugh, so sorry! Hope they are safe and arrive in good shape.

They are not going to be delivered until late tonight after everything closes or early in the morning. The local postmaster is going to go over and open early to check for the package. They should be OK, it is just upsetting. I'm just glad it is not chicks. They would not have made the temp and delay.

Post Office just called. They are in!!! At least the rooster is still in good shape as she moved the box, and he started vigorously crowing. DH is on his way to pick them up and settle them in to their new isolation coop. They will have a 4 x 8 coop with 4 X 16 run with exterior as well as interior roosts. We'll see how a rooster that is used to free range adapts and how two birds that have probably never seen temps in the teens adjust. I am guessing I will have to manually move them into the house tonight. LOL

I will let everyone know as soon as DH opens them up and calls me. Thanks for all the good wishes. A thousand thanks to TheKeeper for so generously catching and sending them to me.

Then he's a late crower. I have three that think 3:00 AM is the time to start. Thank goodness I'm fairly rural with neighbors that don't mind.
