Thanks.. I sure wish there were someway I could get those Blues to at least help you preserve them and when you were ready for them get them back to you. Best of luck and maybe whoever gets them will return to you someday at least part of your flock.

I have just been informed by my employer (I work for a poultry company.) that due to the threat of AI, I have to immediately dispose of all my birds. This has to be done prior to March 15th. I am going to see if I can locate local people to take over my different flocks. My biggest concern will be my Arkansas Blues as the other purebreds I have can be easily replaced by someone else's flock. The gene pool is so small on these that I hate the idea of removing any from breeding availability.

I have several houses that we have built over the last four years.

Would you like chicks? I have fertile eggs now with 9 out of 10 developing in my incubator due to hatch the end of the month. I will have to remove them as soon as they hatch.

Edited to correct number of eggs. However, this looks like it is now off the table. PM me with the amount you want me to pay you for the hen, please.

They now have a suspected case of Avian flu in a turkey flock in AR. I would suspect that I will be unable to ship any live birds or hatching eggs out. I know that AR has instituted a rule that anything coming into the state has to be accompanied by paperwork showing the flock for lives or hatching eggs is AI free in addition to normal testing. This leaves me with needing to find someone within driving distance to take my flock of AR Blues. I had planned on shipping any eggs laid between now and time the flock leaves my place as I ha 90% fertility on eggs in incubator last night.

Anyone have any suggestions of someone that would like to take over this flock?

That's like a never ending nightmare you are in

I'll still take them and pay for shipping if you can get them out - I hope you don't have to euthanize them!!!! My state doesn't have restrictions on coming in - so if you can still ship them out - that can work. Or maybe you are close to the border and can ship them from a border post office ?

Anyway - no pressure - I'm not going to post anymore on this issue as I have a feeling you want to eliminate me as a possible home - and that is totally fine! I know there was misunderstanding with that Hall Family guy last year and some AB people thought I was too pushy about getting my money back from him. I don't want to be like a stalker poster

or make a difficult time more difficult.

I hope something opens up for you in the next day or so and you find a solution that works out perfectly for you.
