Arkansas Blue egg layers

Pics
My last years hatch is laying fabulously this fall too, they are good girls.

I had one accidental egg this year, mistook one CL egg for an AB and had a very handsome Crele boy hatch out. He had a huge comb, and black base with gold leakage. But of course I can not find the picture I took of him! Hope he does well at his new home, he was very calm and friendly compared to the more suspicious AB's, just like his mother. And he should be a good blue egg sire.

It will be fun seeing what the cross is like

I have an extremely broody Erminette sitting on 10 eggs in a nest right now. I had considered terminating my breeding operations, as I wanted to cut back on birds. But with the current uncertainty I decided to go ahead and hatch some replacements out this year.

I still find these birds to be lively, active, feed efficient, excellent layers of beautiful blue eggs. It is a true shame that they have never caught on, because I think most people would be very satisfied with them.

Thanks for the update!

I still have three hens and they are exactly like you have described. They still are laying a lot of eggs and they are three years old now

I think these are really great laying hens. Maybe not so much for people who want sociable pets that they can touch, but I would not call them skittish, more like they just don't care to be handled. They come when called, and don't cause any fuss. They are very feed efficient and lay a lot of really beautiful blue eggs.

I will send anybody who would like some a dozen eggs for the cost of shipping. I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be keeping chickens, probably not more than a couple years, and you never know -some natural disaster could come along and I could lose all of my birds. I would love to see some additional flocks established.

I would like to hatch some of these for sure. How do we go about that? Kern

This is such good news!

I do love them.
