That picture is precious. I get asked a lot why I bother with homesteading because I'm young/in college/I could 'just get it at the store' etc...but I can say with 100% confidence...the sense of joy we get from self sufficiency and the opportunity to witness the miracle of new life isn't diminished by one's age or occupation, and it most certainly doesn't come from the store. Congrats on your new addition Rocky Hill!

Well Spoken! Some get it some don't. i have a friend who has a 3yr old grandson, the little joker can tell the diff in our farm fresh eggs & "i got it at the store eggs", he refuses to eat those anymore. grandpa says we have ruined him. lol...i say good.

Free Buff Orpington Cockerel to good home. He is starting to get to aggressive with my little girl. I currently have him in a bachelor but would rather give him to a good home. Also I have a Partridge Rock Cockerel and 3 Partridge Rock Hens to sell sale as a starter flock.
