Arkansas folks speak up.........

Oh, one more thing... Do you think anyone would be interested in Marans cross chicks? Pure Marans, just a mix of different color varieties.

I have fertile eggs from a Wheaten Roo and a Cuckoo female, and have been wondering if I should hatch them. Do you think these chicks would sell?

I also have a Wheaten female for this male, but I'll be keeping all the eggs from her for a good while to build my flock.

I am such a Maran lover those babies would be so tempting for me!

I may hatch a few when my incubator becomes empty in two weeks. They should lay a nice dark egg.

Jackie- I'm so sorry about your loss.

Cherry- You hatch out some of those babies and I might have to expand a pen (again)

Day 33 for the scovies under the broody. Just checked on them and 1 has pipped and some are rocking around a bit still. Mom is in full defensive mode, striking and hissing at me as I try to see what is going on. I expect that in the morning there will be at least 1 hatched out. Seems like they are a couple of days early and eager to get into the world

Way more than 1 are pipped!!! We just looked again and gently moved mom from the eggs. We did not pick up or disturb the eggs, but we could visually see that 9 of the 13 are pipped!

7 of these are from Amanda's lavender muscovies, the other 6 came from Texas and 3 are chocolate, and 3 are pied. We can't wait until morning to check again. Waiting is the hardest part when they are haching

Look what I found when I woke up this morning. This little baby came from my dud Crazy Egg Chain eggs I got. This one was the only one viable out of 8. I'm so thrilled!

It is a silkie if you can't tell.

Awesome! I can totally tell it's a silkie. What color do you think it will be? Hard to tell from the lighting in the pic, looks gray or tan.
